I'm cold...my high school's Semi (Formal) is tonight, but I'm not going of course, seeing as the only girls who go are the ones who plan to get wasted and/or heavily groped, and I have higher standards than that. Semi at my school isn't just a fun high school dance, it's a party at a club downtown that anyone can get into if they pay $30 for a ticket. I saw a couple of girls yesterday, (one of them I knew) discussing plans for Semi and talking about picking up some Smirnoff, and today in gym class there were a couple of girls talking about pitching in $10 each to buy weed for tonight. They can all do whatever the hell they want, but I don't see how it's fun to get so wasted that you wake up the next morning with a massive headache, not remembering anything that happened. If you aren't going to remember it, what's the point in having so much fun? Call me a loser, but I think that's pretty stupid. What kind of disturbs me is the fact that my older brother is going there, and he doesn't even go to my school which shows you don't even have to be a student to get in.

Maid and waitress outfits are pissing me off!!! I used to be ok with them, but I've seen so many VN openings that feature a girl in a maid or waitress costume that they're starting to make me sick. If you like maids or waitresses, that's great, and I hope you don't take this journal to heart and let it offend you too much. Also, you should probably stop reading if you like maids/waitresses enough that you're angry at me right now.
What I really hate is that there are so many of them. It's a completely overdone fetish and it's hard to believe that Japan hasn't grown tired of it after this long. When the creators of manga, anime and games have to resort to that sort of thing too often, it says something about their confidence with the storyline and characters too. Many good animes have a couple of maid scenes where the characters dress up once or twice, but when you have too many, or center the plot around maid moe, it just gets boring and tired. They're a last resort the industry uses to squeeze the cash out of you. And why do people still buy it? It's just so FUCKING moe! Moe is bearable in moderation, or with good artwork, a good storyline, or just being plain funny, but it sucks if it's just a cute girl showcase. I'm probably going to get sick of moe in general someday, but moe will probably already be dying out before that happens. It doesn't make sense to have girls in those costumes prancing around everywhere anyway, because no one wears anything so retarded just to clean a house or serve food (except in maid cafes obviously). They may be girly and frilly, but they aren't actually that cute. Lolita fashion is much prettier and more adorable anyway if you like girly frilly-ness. Maids fail, Lolita wins.
Everyone, enjoy maids and waitresses if you aren't already as annoyed at them as I am, but do it in moderation, or you'll get this tired of it all someday.
